This school year is quickly coming to an end. With the end of any school year comes concerts, award programs, dance/prom, and many other exciting events to culminate an incredible school year.
Valley Pre-School embodies the beauty of what it is to be a child: discovery, self-expression, creativity and developing care for themselves, their friends and their community. There is something extraordinary about seeing the world through the eyes of a child.
The Granby Horse Council awarded scholarships to help defray college expenses to two Granby Memorial High School seniors. Both students live in East Hartland and have been admitted to equine studies programs.

Customers at Granby Stop & Shop came through again, donating two full carriages of hand soap and sanitizer to Waste Not Want Not.

Farmington Valley Chorale is pleased to present a celebratory program in a 50th anniversary concert on June 4 with newer works by composers Jake Runestad, Colin Britt and the premiere of a very special commissioned piece by Chorale’s own Artistic Director Ellen Gilson Voth.
The Simsbury Grange will host its annual Certified Agricultural Fair on Saturday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Per Executive Order, this meeting was held remotely; commission members who spoke introduced themselves each time they spoke, members of the public who spoke introduced themselves and stated their address.
Connecticut’s Bradley Regional Chamber of Commerce (East Granby and Windsor Locks) is proud to announce that its annual Golf Tournament will take place on Saturday, Sept. 18.
If you haven’t heard, the annual Friends of Granby Public Library (FOGPL) used book sale, usually held at Holcomb Farm in September, has been canceled.
The Granby Camera Club will not be holding meetings at the Senior Center until the Center is open.
The next meeting of the Men’s Breakfast Group will be Friday, Sept. 11, via Zoom. The speaker will be Connor Hogan, director of McLean Game Refuge.
The Granby Multiple Sclerosis Support Group will resume when the Granby Senior Center reopens.
Odiyana Center is a local non-profit organization dedicated to bringing peace through giving instruction in meditation and positive qualities of mind to community members.

The Salmon Brook Historical Society has cancelled its fall flea market.
Mary’s Kitty Korner, Granby’s no-kill cat shelter, is looking for volunteers to help care for its kitties until they find their fur-ever homes.
The Women’s Breakfast Group monthly meetings are suspended until the Granby Senior Center is open and large groups can meet again.
Fine artist Kate Emery auctioned an original oil painting to benefit the Friends of Holcomb Farm, a Granby-based organization devoted to preserving historic farmland and utilizing sustainable farming methods to feed local families and help neighbors in need.
Major Charles Malcolm Dickson, MD died on May 11, 2020, with his loving wife Karen at his side. He was 80 years old.
Granby Moving Forward was started by a group of like-minded professionals and residents who want to make sure the citizens of Granby have the necessary resources they need to overcome obstacles caused by COVID-19, and any future hardships that may come our way.

The Granby Senior Center held a 30-Day Fitness Challenge starting on July 1. Members were encouraged to set a daily 30-minute fitness goal.
Granby resident Jen Lowe, right, is one of three lucky recipients of a Stop & Shop gift card. Her name was selected in the library’s Good in Granby 2020 Summer Reading drawing along with Debbie Orszulak and Heather Guglielmone.
