Michael Guarco is widely recognized in his role (since 1989) as chairman of Granby’s Board of Finance. In his position as chair, and as a regular contributor to the Drummer, he advises and explains best practices for the town’s financial success.
For the month of December, the Friends of Granby Public Library will have books and DVDs available to purchase for gift giving this holiday season. There will be a number of items for children and adults with a variety of different areas of interest, such as gently used Holiday CDs, DVDs, and books, coffee table books, and other items great for stocking stuffers.

On Election Day, as crowds of Granby residents made their way to the polls, Girl Scout Troop 66192 made its way to Salmon Brook Park to complete the installation of a little library.
I think back in my memories to my first Christmas as a wife and young mother. Our income was just above the poverty level (by ten dollars), but we were blessed by the church with a big turkey with all the trimmings, and a basket full of canned goods and basic staples to last quite a while.
The Granby Horse Council Scholarship Committee is accepting applications for 2021. The scholarship is for $500 and is intended for college tuition, books or fees.

In response to a growing need to provide adequate access to food and household essentials for Granby-area families in need, Granby residents once again generously supported First Congregational Church’s monthly food drive and helped it achieve new heights in support of the Granby Food Bank— this time in collaboration with Granby potter Avis Cherichetti.
