Town advisory committee to manage participatory process to allocate grants

The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving has established a Greater Together Community Fund for each of the 29 towns in the Greater Hartford region, which includes Granby. The Hartford Foundation has since provided each Community Fund with $180,000, with $70,000 being maintained in the Funds’ endowments and the remaining $110,000 to support current grantmaking efforts.

Board of Education welcomes familiar face

The Granby Board of Education is pleased to welcome a new member who is a familiar face to the school community. Karen Richmond-Godard, a former Granby Memorial High School teacher, will fill the remaining two years of a four-year term vacated by Whitney Sanzo.

CSAG’s long history of giving

Footloose is coming to Granby

The Granby Dramatic Arts’ production of Footloose is coming March 15 to 17. This musical gets you on your feet with uplifting songs like Footloose and Holding Out for a Hero, while touching on important topics like grief, and how people handle connections when emotion takes over.

Granby and Simsbury Chambers of Commerce approved to merge

Granby and Simsbury Chambers of Commerce have announced that their memberships voted to approve a merger between the two organizations. The merged organization will officially begin June 1 with the first event being the 3rd Annual Granby and Simsbury Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament on June 13 at Hop Meadow Country Club.

Feb. 21: A busy off-season day at Holcomb Farm

GMHS girls basketball team makes history – TWICE!

The 2021-2022 Granby Memorial High School girls basketball season was pretty spectacular. It began long before the first official practice in late November, as the team of 19 began weight and agility training in July 2021 and played in a pre-season league to sharpen skills.

Valley Pre-School artists create ice sculpture

During the last week of January, Valley Pre-School students brought back a beloved tradition—the return of ice sculptures. At home, students created their own structures made of ice and other materials and brought them to school to create a class sculpture.
