Cheng receives Chamber award

The Granby-Simsbury Chamber of Commerce awarded the Public Servant of the Year Award to Granby’s Director of Finance Kimi Cheng in recognition of her hard work, professionalism and technical expertise.

Granby Land Trust applies for renewal of its accreditation

The land trust accreditation program recognizes land conservation organizations that meet national quality standards for protecting important natural places and working lands forever. The Granby Land Trust is pleased to announce that it is applying for renewal of its accreditation. A public comment period is now open.

September is the time of year when the small-town fairs begin around Connecticut. For the early 20th century resident, the Granby Fair was the biggest thrill of the year.

What’s new about pandemics? Answer: Nothing!

Speaking at the Granby Men’s Breakfast in September, Granby’s own Dr. Peter Barwick, MD, reviewed the history of pandemics, the progression of science and of medicine, the important role of several “unknown (think unrecognized) individuals” and the role of the electron microscope.

Candidates to Debate for the 62nd

Making progress with the Strategic Plan

The Board of Selectmen has gone to great lengths to ensure that all residents have had their say about the Strategic Plan that will eventually enumerate the values most important to the community to improve life in our town.

Drought conditions warrant continued water conservation

Connecticut has experienced lower than normal rainfall, with rain amounts totaling an estimated one inch, compared to four inches of rain which would typically fall in this time period. Lower rainfall, combined with high water demand, has led the State of Connecticut’s lnteragency Drought Working Group to declare that all eight counties in the state are experiencing Stage 2 drought conditions.
