Pinewood Derby: Granby Cub Scout Pack 325 holds virtual event

Granby Cub Scout Pack 325 safely held the annual Pinewood Derby on Feb. 6 thanks to the careful planning and execution of the leadership team. This year’s event was broadcast live so scouts could watch at home and featured multiple camera angles, including an up-close view of the finish line.

Mairead Spellacy, 17, a junior at Granby Memorial High School, will be competing in the Miss Connecticut Teen USA pageant in Farmington, the weekend of April 30. Contestants who are accepted to compete in the pageant must have good grades and be involved in community service projects.

On Jan. 26, Joanna Jerin, loving wife, mom, friend, and Mimi left this life at the age of 74. Joanna was born on Nov. 4, 1946, to Lawrence and Jennie (Comparone) Schermerhorn in Bristol.
