As you know, this fall Granby Public Schools identified two priorities for the year: Maximize student growth and achievement and improve our school community communications.
The Granby Memorial High School Dramatic Arts is incredibly excited to perform the hit musical Footloose this Spring. Although the musical is known for its dancing, it carries a deeper meaning of grief and how people struggle to connect after a massive loss.
Granby’s outstanding High School Chorale, with Director Mindy Shilansky, performed for the Women’s Breakfast Group on Dec. 6.
The presenter at the December men’s breakfast was Ken Kuhl who gave a talk on historic Granby sites.
Highlights from the meetings held on November 14th and December 12th, 2023
American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds were allocated to upgrade the cameras located in Granby’s police cruisers. This project was completed in July and all cruisers now have the AXON Fleet Cruiser cameras installed.

The focus of the Social Service Department is to coordinate existing federal, state, regional and local services, to increase community awareness of these services and to develop new programs to meet the needs of Granby residents. The Granby Community Fund is grateful to High Meadow Day Camp for donating the proceeds from its Penny Carnival to the fund. Many thanks to Ben Chaback, camp director, the campers, counselors and staff who put the event together. On Thursday, Oct. 20, the Granby Civic Club will meet at the Senior Center at 1 p.m. for its annual Tea Cup Event.The late Polly Hall, a longtime member of this women’s group, thought it important that in the fall the members and friends would bring their favorite tea cup to the meeting. Abby Spencer ran a lemonade stand to benefit pediatric cancer research and the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. Abby is sporting her new haircut after donating her hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, an organization that makes and donates wigs to female cancer patients.
