Stop&Shop Pet Food Donations

Appalachian Mission Trip

Eighteen youth and 10 adults from First Congregational Church of Granby spent August 8-15 in Guyan Valley, West Virginia on a mission trip sponsored by the Appalachia Service Project. During their stay, participants built porches, wheelchair ramps, staircases, refinished floors and bathrooms, and painted and sided houses utilizing woodworking skills that they had learned in pre-trip classes. Local teacher works with non-profit to build school in Nigeria

For the past 6 years, local teacher and Granby resident Elaine Chagnon has worked with Africa Education Partnership (AEP), a non-profit 501(c)3 organization to help build a school in northern Nigeria. Since 2009, the group has raised over $200,000 to bring education to a place where few can obtain schooling, especially girls.
