On Thursday, Oct. 20, the Granby Civic Club will meet at the Senior Center at 1 p.m. for its annual Tea Cup Event.The late Polly Hall, a longtime member of this women’s group, thought it important that in the fall the members and friends would bring their favorite tea cup to the meeting.  The tea cup was then used to tell a story or special remembrance of an event that was meaningful to the owner. Abby’s lemonade benefits pediatric cancer research

Abby Spencer ran a lemonade stand to benefit pediatric cancer research and the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. Abby is sporting her new haircut after donating her hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, an organization that makes and donates wigs to female cancer patients. This year a memorial plaque has been placed in the garden to commemorate the garden’s founder, Gerry Palmer.
