On Sept. 24, at 7 p.m., a Board of Education Forum was conducted in the Granby Memorial High School Auditorium by Mr. Dombrowski’s Honors Civics Class.
During my recent office hours, an attendee asked whether the fiscal planning work contemplates enough negative impact from the state aid reductions and cost shifting. This individual was the only one to show at either of the two office sessions that were held who isn’t a candidate nor is politically connected.
Donations may be dropped off at the Shed at Food Bank site on Salmon Brook St., Stop & Shop, Geissler’s, FV-YMCA, and Granby Senior Center.
Board of Selectmen, 7:30 p.m., Town Hall, Mondays, November 4, November 18
On A Motion by Selectman Neumann, seconded by Selectman Ohannessian, the Board voted unanimously (5-0-0) to approve the appointment of James C. Tsaptsinos (R), 25 Stonewall Drive, West Granby, to the Board of Finance.
The commission reviewed the proposed changes to the restaurant drive-through regulation and the maps provided by Abby Kenyon, which were prepared to show possible locations of drive-through windows.
The Granby Registrar of Voters will hold a special last day, all-day voter registration session from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at their Town Hall offices.
The Granby Fire Marshal’s office is participating in Operation Save A Life, a public service campaign designed to educate consumers on the dangers of fire and carbon monoxide poisoning
Transfer Station hours: In addition to Saturdays, the transfer station will be open Wednesday mornings (8 a.m. to noon) through Nov. 13.
The polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the Municipal Election on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
