Potluck and Author Talk with Dorie Greenspan: Monday, March 9, 6 p.m. Greenspan is the author of 13 cook books, including one with the late chef and PBS host Julia Childs. Before you meet the author, meet her food in a community potluck. Bring a ready to eat dish from one of Dorie Greenspan’s books with a serving utensil. We’ll supply the plates, flatware, napkins, and drinks. Potluck at 6 p.m. and author talk at 7 p.m.

Magic Show: Saturday, March 14, 11 a.m. Join magician Matt Matthews for his Hands Up For Reading family magic show where storybooks come to life with magic. With surprises around every corner, this 45-minute, interactive show is guaranteed to excite and delight. Please register at the library, www.egpl.org or 860-653-3002.

Fetch! Me a Story: Saturday, March 28, 12:30 – 2 p.m. A registered therapy dog and handler, trained in the Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) program, will visit the library to meet individually with young readers. Established in 1999, “R.E.A.D. is the first and foremost program utilizing the companionship of therapy animals to encourage children’s love of books and the reading environment.”

Open to all, including pre-readers, those with special needs, and those wishing to become comfortable around dogs. To register for your 15-minute slot, visit the library or call 860-653-3002.

Family Movie Night: Thursday, March 26, 6 p.m. How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming

Food Explorers—How to Make Ravioli: Tuesday, March 31, 6 p.m. Spend an evening learning how to make pasta from scratch. Learn the ins and outs of kneading, rolling, and filling ravioli. You will fill the raviolis with a delicious cheesy concoction, plus, you’ll get to pick the brain of a registered dietician along the way. This program is nut free but will contain diary and eggs. Cost: $15 per person. Space is limited, please call 860-653-3002 to register early.

Fancy Nancy Storytime: Saturday, April 4, 10:30 a.m. Things are always better when you are fancy. Join us for story time, songs, and more. For boys and girls ages 4 to 8 years old.
