People often think healthy living is eating the right food, getting plenty of exercise and sleep. Some depend upon alcohol, tobacco, or “comfort food”—which don’t really help a body resist the stresses and strains, and in fact can contribute to issues like heart disease and digestive disorders. However, there are better supports, some even in your own back yard.

Christensens celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

Ted and Sandy Christensen were married on Feb. 17, 1962, at the Horace Bushnell Church in Hartford, by Ted’s twin brother, the Rev. William Christensen. After the reception they left for Vermont on their honeymoon but after running into a blizzard, they stayed overnight in Northampton, Mass.

When GPS fails you…

Albert Einstein famously said, “There are no coincidences.” It doesn’t take a genius, though, to recognize those occurrences that happen from time to time, that defy common explanation and leave you shaking your head in amazement. It could be something small—a happy timing of receiving just what was needed when it was needed. Or it might be a moment of providence with a life-changing impact. I’m not a genius, but I’ve experienced a few of those “beyond coincidence” situations myself.

Children’s hospital receives toys
