The Gathering Room is a great place to get everyone together.  Granby Recreation and Leisure Services is not just for youth sports. In the last year, we have rented the Gathering Room at Salmon Brook Park for two graduation parties and a birthday party.

Fat budget needs a diet

As with any family, a budget sometimes needs to be amended based on internal or external fiscal factors. I would like to challenge each of the departments to consider a reduction of two percent to their budgets not by simply trying to meet the current plus-2 percent budget-increase target.

PLANNING & ZONING MINUTES FEB. 25, 2020

Kate Bogli, 198R Salmon Brook Street, addressed the commission regarding the draft agritourism zoning regulation, noting the importance of supporting and helping farmers and not adding more paperwork and fees for farmers. Virginia Wutka, 130 Lost Acres Road, asked the commission what the impetus is for the proposed changes.

Stop & Shop’s gold medalist

Foxfield F.A.R.M supports Senate bill

Foxfield F.A.R.M. Foundation’s president Susan Patricelli Regan presented her testimony in support of S.B. 217, raised by Senator John A. Kissel, CT Senate District 7, on Feb. 27. The Senate bill is for an equine instructional program for veterans with PTSD to be included under the Veterans Health Care coverage.

Granby to participate in Neighborhood Assistance Act Program

Connecticut Department of Revenue Services (DRS) has announced the 2020 Connecticut Neighborhood Assistance Act Program Proposal. This program provides tax credits to businesses that make cash investments in qualifying community non-profit programs. Past approved projects have come from public service departments such as police, fire and ambulance, health service agencies, land trusts and more.
