At the beginning of this year’s state legislative session, local Representative Mark Anderson sponsored House Bill 5717. This legislation proposed to eliminate capacity limits on firearm magazines, remove all requirements to register large capacity magazines, and would require the state to destroy any records accumulated that document the location of large capacity magazines.

Eleanor Marie (Zito) Grant, wife of 67 years to the late Edward T. Grant (2014) of Granby, passed away peacefully at the age of 97, on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Apple Rehab of Avon.

The Granby Men’s Golf League has a scholarship fund for a senior at Granby Memorial High School or a Granby resident who attends a different high school, who is an athlete and/or intends to pursue a career in an athletic-related field and who will be entering first year of college, university, or technical/vocational school as a full-time student.
The Community Scholarship Association of Granby (CSAG) has been awarding scholarships to deserving high school seniors since 1958.

For the second year in a row, Granby Racial Reconciliation is happy that Lady Carrie, executive director of Jada Foundation CT Double Dutch League, accepted its invitation to direct the Double Dutch exposition at the Granby Racial Unity Festival Saturday, June 29.
