If you enjoy zany comedy as well as a good love story with a twist, get ready for The Suffield Players’ spring production of Sylvia by A.R. Gurney. Sylvia performs at 8 p.m. on May 3, 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19, and on May 13 at 2 p.m., at Mapleton Hall, 1305 Mapleton Avenue in Suffield.
The Simsbury Grange and Green Monster e-Cycling will co-host a recycling event on Saturday, May 12, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Andy’s Market, 836 Hopmeadow Street (Route 10) in Simsbury. Do you need to responsibly dispose of old computers, televisions and other items?
The Amazing History of Pratt & Whitney

The Granby Camera Club will meet on Monday, May 7, 7 p.m., at the Senior Center. The program will be a workshop on macro photography.
Salmon Brook Historical Society Spring Flea Market will be held Saturday, May 12, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Society is located at 208 Salmon Brook Street (Route 10/202). Parking and admission are both free.
On Wednesday, May 2, the Granby Women’s Breakfast at the Senior Center will host Michelle Niedermeyer, co-owner of Lost Acres Vineyard, as she presents Vine to Wine, a Virtual Trip to Lost Acres Vineyard. Breakfast will be at 8:30 a.m., with the program beginning at 9 a.m. Call Corinne Dickerson at 860-653-9891 to make a reservation.

Hanging Basket Benefit
The annual hanging basket sale to benefit Mary’s Kitty Korner will be held, rain or shine, Saturday, May 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 281 Salmon Brook Street. Ten-inch hanging baskets, 10-inch patio pots, Boston ferns and 12-inch cherry tomato hanging baskets are $20 each or two for $30; 12-inch hanging baskets are $30 each or two for $50; patio tomato plants are $12.50 each.
The Granby Civic Club will meet on Thursday, May 17 at 1 p.m. in the Senior Center. Learn about the mission and work of the Waste Not Want Not Community Kitchen that provides community meals at the South Church on Wednesday evenings.
