The focus of the Social Services Department is to coordinate existing federal, state, regional and local services, to increase community awareness of these services and to develop new programs to meet the needs of Granby residents.

On March 8 we return to daylight savings time, setting our clocks ahead by one hour. This is a good reminder to replace the batteries in smoke alarms—Change Your Clock / Change Your Batteries.

Barrel Placement: At the curb, please leave a two-foot gap between your barrels so the automatic arm can grab the barrel. Barrels should never be placed in the road.
In 2018 it had been 25 years since the Town of Granby updated its police/fire/ambulance communication system. The dispatch console was 24 years old; the radio equipment was 20-30 years old. Parts were no longer available, so repair was not possible. The two-tower radio system installed in 2000 barely covered 50 percent of the town.

While the town boards annually prepare the fiscal year’s budget and operations plan, there is also a process of looking ahead at the capital needs of both buildings and infrastructure. Within the annual budget proposal are components that deal with the ongoing obligation to take care of what we have.
