Drug-resistant hookworms are spreading in dogs
|
Parasitologists are now warning us about multi-drug resistant hookworms that are spreading from dog to dog in the United States. This is mostly an issue in retired racing greyhounds. There is also a concern that these hookworms are spreading from greyhounds to the general dog population.

Roberts named Lions’ representative to United Nations council

Lions Clubs International President Douglas X. Alexander recently appointed West Granby resident Dave Roberts as the Lions’ representative to the United Nations Council of Organizations. In this role, Roberts will represent over 1.4 million Lions at this United Nations’ organization.

McLean Golf Tournament raised $55,000

The Annual McLean Golf Tournament supports the vital McLean Home Care and Hospice program that serves residents at McLean and in the community. The tournament sponsors’ generous support, especially during these difficult times, exemplifies their faith in our mission to serve those in need. On Sept. 13, 104 golfers and 35 sponsors raised over $55,000.
