I hope this communication finds you and your family well. The time has finally arrived to return to the best school district in the state of Connecticut.
The world changed abruptly in March, upending the education system in a few short days. The Granby Education Foundation (GEF) responded with initiatives designed to bring smiles and relief during a turbulent time.
This week we are celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week. Students and families have truly honored them by creating videos and signs.
On June 10, Dr. Jordan Grossman advised Granby parents that Mrs. Sue Henneberry has been appointed to serve as the Acting Principal for Kelly Lane Primary School during the months of July and August. Currently, Henneberry serves as the Principal for Granby Memorial Middle School and is retiring effective June 30.
Granby Memorial High School Performing Arts announced nominations for the HALO Awards that took place June 25 via Zoom. All nominations are for the fall production of James and the Giant Peach.
In an effort to give the GMHS Class of 2020 the recognition they have earned, the Granby Education Foundation had signs for each student printed and posted them on the entry drive to the high school the day the caps and gowns were distributed.
Melissa Migliaccio stated she is pleased to hold this meeting virtually, and recognized the importance of continuing to move the business of the district forward.
The senior t-shirt reflects the pandemic that changed the course of their last year at GMHS. Lost Acres Orchard provided cookies as a special treat.
GMHS seniors were met with a surprise when they picked up their caps and gowns on May 20. Individual signs and banners adorned the entry drive into the school.
