After an early 2-1 loss to Avon, Granby answered with a 2-1 win later in the season. On Nov. 13, the two teams met again, this time in the finals. Earlier that week, Granby defeated Simsbury 2-0 in the semifinals, while Avon beat Canton 3-0. Everyone knew it would be a game to see and it was. Avon came out strong scoring early in the first quarter followed by a second goal before half-time. Granby opened the third quarter, pressing Avon’s net and made it 2-1. It was a well-fought game on both sides but Avon was able to capitalize on more breaks and went up 3-1 for the final. Great season Granby Bears!
