The Fall of a Landmark

My husband, Maurice, and I were watching over my grandchildren in Granby when he received the kind of phone call from his brother that no one likes to receive. Their 96-year-old mother had suffered a major stroke. She had been rushed to the hospital in the small town of Calico Rock, Arkansas and was in very serious condition. My brother-in-law urged us to get there right away.

A day in the life

Today looked like it was going to be a great day. A trouble-free day for hanging out; for taking what comes my way. I guess, given my lot in life, I should have known better.

Celebrate Trails Day with a family-friendly hike

On June 4, celebrate Connecticut Trails Day by spending a morning with fellow outdoor enthusiasts on the Granby Land Trust’s Mary Edwards Mountain property. This family-friendly nature walk will be led by GLT Board Member and middle school science teacher Jennifer Plourde.

Sunset Series returns to Salmon Brook Park

The Town of Granby and Rider Productions, LLC are pleased to announce the return of the Sunset Concert Series in July. On three consecutive Saturdays, July 9, 16 and 23, the concerts will be held at Salmon Brook Park. Proceeds will benefit Granby Parks and Recreation, Habitat for Humanity, Waste Not Want Not food pantry, and Specialist Richard C. Emmons III Memorial Fund.
