• Dr. Addley read a statement regarding the Florida shootings: “It is a sad day when any Superintendent of Schools cannot confirm the safety of our staff of students” and went on to inform the Board of the recent state safety grant awarded to Granby for $1M.

Consideration of an application seeking approval of a one lot re-subdivision for property located at 33 Moose Horn Road. The commission has received a revised map that addresses the status of the open space that was originally presented to be transferred to the State of Connecticut.

Application seeking a Special Permit for a barn in excess of 1,000 square feet for property located at 6 Knollwood Lane. The public hearing for an application seeking a Special Permit for a barn in excess of 1,000 square feet for property located at 6 Knollwood Lane opened at 7:03 p.m. Amy Goodusky, applicant, stated that she wants to add 576 square feet to the existing barn for the comfort, pleasure and safety of the animals that are housed there.

FOXFIELD F.A.R.M. connects with local VFWs

Foxfield For A Recovery Mission Foundation’s equine therapy program founders Susan Patricelli-Regan and Bill Regan have established a close working relationship with VFWs in Avon and Simsbury to meet the needs of U.S. military personnel who suffer from PTSD and related mental issues. In addition, their CT Valley Views cable program is supporting the VFW’s objective to encourage new membership by interviewing the respective Commandants as program guests.

Sylvia Davis Patricelli Fine Arts Scholarship 2018 – Granby

Patricelli-Regan has established an initial yearly scholarship in memory of her mother, Sylvia Davis Patricelli, for a graduating senior from Granby Memorial High School who is pursuing a career in the fine arts. Patricelli-Regan and her parents previously lived in post-WWII Granby and she wished to encourage the creative arts within Granby’s academic curriculum in recognition of her mother’s success as an internationally recognized portrait painter from Australia.

CBG News Update

The Citizens for A Better Granby board supports projects of other nonprofit organizations, charity fundraisers, major school events such as Safe Grad Night and has donated monetarily for the past number of years to various Granby organizations and special events. This year CBG donated a gift basket for the 7th Annual Easter Basket Silent Auction hosted by MeadowBrook of Granby.
