The Citizens for A Better Granby board supports projects of other nonprofit organizations, charity fundraisers, major school events such as Safe Grad Night and has donated monetarily for the past number of years to various Granby organizations and special events. This year CBG donated a gift basket for the 7th Annual Easter Basket Silent Auction hosted by MeadowBrook of Granby. The goal of this auction is to raise over $3,000 for the Waste Not Want Not Community Kitchen.

Another organization and an integral part of Granby is the Friends of the Holcomb Farm. It is publishing a history of the Holcomb Farm; the CBG board agreed this publication merits CBG’s financial support.

A successful school event requires not only manpower but financial support. Therefore, as in past years, CBG made a donation to the Safe Grad Night.

CBG offers annually a $1,000 scholarship to a GMHS graduating senior who is interested in pursuing higher education in journalism or a related field. The board encourages any graduating senior who fits this description to contact the high school guidance department to apply.

As the name states, Citizens for A Better Granby, not only publishes the Granby Drummer that in itself is a major undertaking, but CBG advocates for organizations that make our community a better place to live.  Thank you to the volunteers who help us help others.
