Support for Tsaptsinos

I have known James Tsaptsinos since he moved to Granby nine years ago. He is a great neighbor and he is a person that contributes to the community. His experience and background will make him an excellent member of the Board of Finance.

The Democrats and TCI

As some of you might know, the Democrat Legislative majority and Gov. Lamont failed to pass The Climate Initiative (TCI) bill during the regular session. They may try again during a Special Session.

Support for Eastwood

I would like to encourage all Granby residents to vote for Valerie Eastwood as First Selectwoman in this upcoming election. I met Val shortly after she moved to town, and was immediately impressed with her intelligent and engaged approach to how Granby functions.

Support for Emery

We have known Jenny Emery and her husband “Coach” Dave for many years and have worked with both of them on some of the civic projects with which they have been involved. They share the same passion for Granby and have donated thousands of hours to it.

In June, Granby lost a town treasure.

Carol Laun was the curator and archivist for the Salmon Brook Historical Society, a volunteer position she had held for decades. Although Carol was from Milwaukee, she took on the role of preserving Granby’s history as if her roots were here.

Cultured Meat

I was excited to learn an Israeli company, Future Meat Technologies, recently opened the world’s first cultured-meat factory. For those who don’t know, cultured meat is grown from cells, without slaughtering animals.

Democratic candidates

I am excited to endorse the incredible slate of candidates from the Granby Democratic Town Committee for municipal elections on Nov. 2. We have EIGHT candidates running in competitive races for three boards: Board of Selectmen, Board of Education and Board of Finance.

Towards a slaughter-free America

I remember my first chicken harvest, as it was euphemistically called. It was 1999 and I was 12. In a video of the event, you can see me in my denim work jacket, gripping my neck in vicarious horror.

Bear Wars

Once again, I am weighing in on the bear situation in Granby. Wild animals are interested in three things: food, sex, and self-preservation.
