The Democrats and TCI

As some of you might know, the Democrat Legislative majority and Gov. Lamont failed to pass The Climate Initiative (TCI) bill during the regular session. They may try again during a Special Session.

For those who don’t know, TCI will impose a new gas and fuel tax to pay for climate related infrastructure—more EV charging stations, transportation improvements, etc.—in the name of reducing air pollution. The problem is that TCI will lock in gas and fuel price increases every year and limit the amount of product available for sale in Connecticut. This will directly affect the working people in Connecticut.

Only Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Washington D.C. are current signatories—no state west of us. As our weather and air pollution come from the west, we’re cleaning the air for the fish in the Atlantic. A study by Tufts University concludes that air pollution will be reduced by 23 percent without TCI, so why the rush to implement it? Along with the new truck mileage tax, the price of food, and others.

This is another example of Democrat majority overreach to stall our economy and hurt the people they claim to want to help.

The Democrat agenda is dangerous and must be stopped! It starts with local elections to keep the Ds from infiltrating Granby.
