Public budget workshops are over, and the mill rate looks like it will be kept to zero again, pending any last-minute surprises. Read details on the town website (granby-ct.gov) where the “budget book” should be posted under Public Documents by April 1.
John Adams, 3 Westview Drive, addressed the board stating he was a member of the former Town-Owned Land Study Committee. In light of the recent discussions considering the sale of the development rights for 107 East Street, Adams wanted to remind people of some of the study findings.

At its February meeting, the Board of Finance set guidelines for FY22 operating budgets that freeze the mill rate at the same level as it has been for the past two years. The action reflects the ongoing impact of the pandemic.
The Friends of Granby Public Library (FOGPL) raises the majority of its funds through the annual book sale that usually takes place in September. Unfortunately, the 2020 book sale was canceled—but we are determined to hold the book sale in 2021.
First Selectman Kuhnly opened the public hearing and stated that the purpose of the hearing is to receive public comment regarding the proposed sale of town-owned land at 4, 11 and 15 North Granby Road and 3 East Granby Road for the intersection improvements at US 202/Route 10 at Route 10 and Route 189. Ward read the Legal Notice as published.

Grossman said that when he came on board a year ago, he gave the board a card and a M&M candy stating it would be a “Magical and Memorable” year, which it certainly was. This year, he gave the board a 100 Grand Bar candy bar and thanked board members for their hard work over the past year.
