Town of Granby policy for display of presentation materials during public comment

Any person who wishes to provide materials to a board or commission for display on the video monitors at a town meeting (where such monitors are being used to video conference the meetings) must email the materials no later than 10 a.m. on the day of the meeting. All materials must be contained in a single attachment to the email.

Granby Police Department achieves milestone accreditation

The Granby Police Department has achieved all three tiers of state accreditation through the Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council (POSTC). In Connecticut, the state’s police accountability legislation requires all law enforcement units to attain multi-tiered state accreditation by the end of 2026.

Each year after the budget is approved, department heads prepare work plans for the initiatives they plan to complete with the approved funds. Departmental work plans focus on initiatives over and above daily operations with the overarching goal to “move the town forward”.

According to the National Fire Protection Association, smoke alarms reduce the risk of dying in a home fire by more than half (54 percent). Meanwhile, roughly three out of five fire deaths happen in homes with either no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms.
