I fish a lot, sometimes alone, sometimes with my kids or friends. Sometimes in local bass tournaments, I’ve traveled great distances to fish, working to fulfill my dream of fishing in every state with my son.

A special warm-up

The Playstrong Group LLC from Simsbury held a welcoming warm up class for the Special Olympics athletes as they took on competition at the International Skating Center. Athletes enjoyed fun warm up and stretching exercises before their competitions in figure skating and speed skating at the rink.

Granby Memorial High School alum to run in Boston Marathon

On April 16, Nicole Kuhnly, a 2012 Granby Memorial High School graduate, will be running in the Boston Marathon for the first time. One of the reasons Kuhnly decided to run in the Marathon is to honor of her late paternal grandmother, Z, who passed away from ovarian cancer in 2016.

The Friends of Granby Public Library (FOGPL) membership year begins April 1. We are already planning the fall used book sale, which promises to be bigger and better than last year’s record breaking event. This is the perfect time to join the Friends in making it all happen.

Girl Scout helping seniors learn technology
|
Ashley Puglise, a Girl Scout Cadette, spends a significant amount of time helping her grandparents navigate technology, especially when they run into problems. So when she began thinking about earning her Silver Award, helping other seniors with technology just seemed natural. “Helping Seniors with Technology” will launch on Thursdays, from 4-5 p.m., and Saturdays, from 11-noon, throughout March and into April at the Granby Public Library.
