Chocolate Éclair Cake

Happy May! It finally feels like we can start planning outdoor gatherings again, with Mother’s Day and Memorial Day picnics just around the corner. This delightful recipe was shared with me by dear friends many years ago, and it has remained a favorite ever since. It’s wonderfully simple to prepare and absolutely delicious—perfect for celebrating special moments or enjoying anytime throughout the year.

Memorial Day

Today we honor and remember all the brave men and women who gave their lives for the freedoms we know today. It is because of their sacrifices that we can vote for the persons of our choice, have our own views on different topics, march in protest and support, and practice our religion in our own way.

A student inspires the “Blanchard Experiment” at GMMS

At Granby Memorial Middle School Fish Kids club, students were studying brown trout and their unique adaptations, including an ability to change coloration and patterns to better blend into the environment. During the lesson, one student, Owen Blanchard, posed a question that evolved into a project: What if the fish tanks looked more like the fish’s natural habitat?

Make a Joyful Noise (Psalm 100)

It’s Thursday evening at 6:30. Harmonious voices rise from the choir room at the south campus of Granby Congregational Church. Choir members stretch the day’s kinks out and warm up with scales. Preparatory exercises include the tricky “Peter Piper Picked a Peck of Purple Pickled Peas,” repeated at speed repetitively on ascending notes. Then the work begins: learning one’s part, applying dynamics and marking those important rests.
