REGISTRARS: Sept. 14 primary, maybe

The Republican and Democratic Town Committees will meet in July to nominate candidates to stand for office in the Nov. 2 municipal election. The Republican caucus is scheduled for Thursday, July 22 at 7 p.m. in the Granby Senior Center Community Room.

On May 11, the CT Mirror published an article by Mark Pazniokas entitled, “House extends emergency powers—but with added oversight”. While a majority of “Demoncrats” in both the House and Senate create and manipulate bills and budgets and the Capitol remains closed to the public, the same body of unilateral capacity extended Governor Lamont’s Executive emergency powers until July 20, albeit with some nominal oversight.

Registrars Calendar Review

Absentee Ballot Applications are being collected now by the Town Clerk for those who know they will be away from home on Sept. 14 and/or Nov. 2. The form is available at Town Hall or on the web at sots.ct.gov

Word was received from the State Department of Education that remote learning will not be mandated in the 2021-2022 school year. All families have been notified.
