Granby women build Habitat homes

Enthusiastically swinging their hammers, 18 Granby area women teamed up in May to help build affordable housing as part of Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity’s annual month-long Women Build celebration.

Granby 4-H Robotics Teams secured three World Awards at Live Remote VEX Robotics World Championship 2021 that has been recognized as the Largest Online Robot Championships record holder by Guinness World Records®.

Granby Land Trust (GLT) board member and middle school science teacher Jen Plourde led a group of hikers on an educational tour of the GLT’s Seth and Lucy Holcombe Preserve in North Granby on June 5, as part of Connecticut Trails Day.

Rachael Manzer, NE 4-H Volunteer of the Year

Rachael Manzer was named as Connecticut’s 4-H Volunteer of the Year and most recently awarded the National 2021 Northeast Region 4-H Volunteer of the Year Award. Manzer is a volunteer with UConn’s Granby 4-H Club of Granby, and a UConn 4-H Alumni.
