I would like to endorse Fred Moffa as a candidate for the Board of Selectmen.
We were pleased to read that long-time West Granby resident Donna Nolan is running for election to the Board of Education. Granby could certainly use a smart, tireless, responsible advocate like Donna to help strengthen the quality of education in our town with a level of fairness and fiscal discipline.
I write this letter in support of Donna Nolan and Sarah Thrall for the Board of Education. Sarah Thrall currently serves as Chairman and has navigated the Granby Public Schools through one of the most challenging times in history—keeping our schools open for in-person learning during COVID-19. Sarah’s experience and dedication to the board as a working mom of five means she shows up at every subcommittee meeting, board meeting, graduation, open house, convocation, PAC, SEPTO and PTO meetings and spends countless hours in service to the education of our students. Sarah’s board experience and dedication speaks for itself.
We are writing to encourage all Granby residents to vote for Dave Roberts for the Granby Board of Finance in the Nov. 2 election. Dave and his family live in our West Granby neighborhood, and since retiring in 2017 he has been a very active volunteer throughout the Granby community.
With a modest and endurable confidence, intelligence and genuine care for others, Kelly Rome has been an inspirational mentor in my life for as long as I can remember. As a young adult starting out in my career, it is important to have both female and male role models.
I’m writing in support of Whitney Sanzo for the Board of Education. Whitney and I connected nine years ago when our families were both fostering children.
We are pleased to endorse Sarah Thrall for reelection to the Granby Board of Education. We have known Sarah for over 15 years and have always been impressed with her service to the community.
I have known James Tsaptsinos since he moved to Granby nine years ago. He is a great neighbor and he is a person that contributes to the community. His experience and background will make him an excellent member of the Board of Finance.
• Grossman welcomed Tess Bajek, a junior at the high school, as the new Student Representative.
• It has been a busy hiring season, hiring approximately 50 new staff members.
We opened the doors to the best school district in the State of Connecticut on Aug. 26. I have visited all of the schools several times since the start of the school year and it is so good to see students and staff back in the buildings, engaged and settling into routines.
