The Granby Multiple Sclerosis Support Group will resume when the Granby Senior Center reopens. Meetings are at 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month.
For the second consecutive year, the Salmon Brook Historical Society has cancelled its spring flea market due to the coronavirus pandemic. Following the Governor’s guidelines and to protect our volunteers as well as the public, the society reached this difficult decision.
Pay It Forward Day is a global initiative to make a difference by creating a ripple effect of kindness throughout the year. Small acts of kindness, when multiplied by millions of people, can make a big impact in the world.
Several residents raised an objection to an application that will be the subject of a public hearing at a future meeting. Chapple explained the commission will not be receiving comments and the opportunity for public comment is during the public hearing for the application.
The Suffield Players present the debut of a contemporary comedy, Perseus and Medi by Nicole Murray. The show will perform virtually on Facebook Live, April 9 and 10 at 7 p.m., accessible on The Suffield Players Facebook page, facebook.com/TheSuffieldPlayers
The East Granby Library will host a virtual talk with Martha Hall Kelly on Tuesday, April 27, at 7 p.m. Sunflower Sisters, Kelly’s latest novel in the series that includes Lilac Girls and Lost Roses, continues the story of her ancestors. Georgeanna Woolsey, a nurse who joins the war effort for the Union during the War Between the States, crosses paths with Jemma, a young enslaved girl sold off and conscripted into the army, and with Ann-May Wilson, a southern plantation mistress.
Hop into history with the Easter Bunny at the New England Air Museum’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Friday, April 2. Families and children are invited to join us from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for our Easter Egg Hunt.
In lieu of its usual spring performance at Covenant Presbyterian Church, the Simsbury Community Band will present a virtual concert on Sunday, April 11, at 3 p.m., featuring the music of John Williams.
The immune system has become a topic of interest during the COVID pandemic. It is our goal to create a healthy internal environment to fight disease by eating right, exercising, getting enough sleep, and taking supplements.
The Gardeners of Simsbury won’t be holding its annual plant sale at Boy Scout Hall, BUT have no fear because you can still purchase beautiful plants just before Mother’s Day!
