Purchase Stop & Shop shopping bags in September

The Stop & Shop grocery store in Granby has selected the Citizens for a Better Granby (publishers of the Drummer) to receive a portion of the sales of its Community Bags during September. Special Budget Issue included alongside the April 2025 issue of The Granby Drummer

April is budget time

If it’s April, then the FY 26 budget vote is right around the corner. That vote will occur on Monday, April 21. You can vote in town hall during the hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Absentee ballots are also available from the town clerk. Securing an absentee ballot is a process, so I encourage anyone who needs one to call the town clerk at 860-844-5310.

Superintendent Cheri Burke’s forward-thinking education budget includes investments in staffing and programming to meet the needs of students, staff and facilities now and in the future. Unfortunately, the Granby Board of Finance budget guidance does not align with these goals. The Granby Board of Education now faces tough decisions to balance educational needs with taxpayer concerns.
