RFP seeks consultant’s input on Centralized Administrative Unit

School Superintendent Burke and Town Manager Walsh will be issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) seeking an independent consultant to examine how the Town of Granby and Board of Education (BOE) operations could benefit from a “Centralized Administrative Unit” (CAU) that would serve both the Town and BOE administrative functions.

As superintendent, I understand that our schools represent both one of Granby’s greatest strengths and one of the largest investments our taxpayers make each year. Once the Granby Board of Finance provides budget guidance for the fiscal year, the Granby Board of Education conducts a series of four public budget meetings and workshops, each intentionally designed to address a different and critical component of the district’s financial planning.

Granby Public Schools has received an excellent response to our strategic planning survey from students, parents, staff and community members. In addition, we held successful strategic planning feedback sessions, and we are now developing a district strategic plan guided by the words Connect. Believe. Achieve.

This commitment reflects our district goals and aligns with the revised Connecticut School Climate Policy, which all districts in Connecticut were tasked to implement by July 1, 2025.

This year, we plan to build on this theme in a big way as we create our next five-year strategic plan, turning those words into action across the district.
