As we enter our 53rd year of publishing the Granby Drummer, our mission remains the same as it was in 1970: to inform and educate all Granby residents on issues affecting our town through distribution of a free publication.

When did we start believing that the two major political parties—vehicles designed to hoard power—get to dictate our values? Weren’t values supposed to be determined by our local communities, through culture, civics and spiritual life?
Next to flight travel, travel by train is one of the safest and most reliable means of mass transportation. Electric trains in particular emit no pollution, have less accidents than vehicular traffic and are generally quieter than diesel/diesel hybrid counterparts.
Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to provide for early voting? That’s the question Connecticut voters will decide on Nov. 8.
