I hope that you’re finding this monthly column informative. It’s meant to highlight the good work that is being accomplished by our municipal employees and volunteers. It also lets folks know about important issues and activities in town. Great things are happening every day, and I hope to share some of them each month.

Pursuant to the Rules of the Democratic Party and State election laws, you are hereby notified that a caucus will be held on March 28, 2022 at 6 p.m. at the Granby Senior Center to endorse delegates to the State Conventions in May.
In 2017, Connecticut Public Act 17-170 called upon each town and municipality to develop an affordable housing plan. The draft of the Affordable Housing Plan will be available for review and posted on the town’s website by March 10.
The Board of Directors of the Granby Chamber of Commerce has approved a merger with the Simsbury Chamber, scheduled to commence on June 1, pending approval by chamber members of the two neighboring communities.
Working closely with Town Manager Erica Robertson, First Selectman Mark Fiorentino has put together a program to identify what Granby’s various “stakeholders” feel should be its most important goals.

What the Granby Youth Service Bureau has to offer
Sometimes it feels as if the YSB is the best kept secret that’s not a secret in town. Most of our offerings are free to residents, and all focus on helping make our community stronger and healthier.
Vision Appraisal Technology has contracted with the Town of Granby to assist the Assessors with its state mandated revaluation for Oct. 1, 2022.
The focus of the Social Services Department is to coordinate existing federal, state, regional and local services, to increase community awareness of these services and to develop new programs to meet the needs of Granby residents.
