Many thanks to all who participated in and enjoyed the Tri-Town Candidate Forum on Sunday, March 18, in the Holcomb Farm North Pavilion

Over 70 local residents personally met and spoke with ten invited Democrats seeking to serve as the next Governor or State Attorney General. Visiting with voters were five potential future governors including Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin, former Conn.

The Friends of Granby Public Library (FOGPL) is gearing up for its 36th Annual Used Book Sale on  Sept 21-23 at Holcomb Farm, and your help is needed! The Friends will be ready to accept your donations of gently used books, free from markings and the smell of mildew or smoke, at Granby Public Library beginning Saturday, June 2.

The public hearing for an application seeking a Special Permit for a barn in excess of 1,000 square feet for property located at 6 Knollwood Lane opened at 7:03 p.m. Amy Goodusky, applicant, stated that she wants to add 576 square feet to the existing barn for the comfort, pleasure and safety of the animals that are housed there.

Household Hazardous Waste: This year, Granby will again work with local towns to host hazardous waste collections.  The first collection will be Saturday, April 21 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at 10 Monteith Drive, Farmington, CT. For a list of accepted items, please check the Public Works page on the Town of Granby website granby-ct.gov. During 2018, there will be two additional hazardous waste collections held in Simsbury.

Residents speak out against town’s use of glyphosate

The Herbicide and Pesticide Study Committee held a public information session on March 14 to gather input from Granby residents on the use of glyphosate (commonly known as Round-up) by the Public Works Department on roadways and near waterways. The first use by the DPW was in 2017, done with a boom truck whose spray width was five feet.
