Ritalahti exhibit at the Vineyard

Annukka Ritalahti’s first solo art exhibition was in 1981. Now after 40 years she is celebrating her journey as an artist exhibiting new stained-glass pieces and a collection of glass jewelry at Lost Acres Vineyard through Oct. 10.

Members of the Granby Artists Association are excited to again offer the annual Open Studio Tour on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 16 and 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants have been working hard for many months creating beautiful works of fine art and functional pieces to wear, adorn your home and give as gifts.

FV Chorale returns to live rehearsals

The Farmington Valley Chorale announces its return to “safe and sound” in-person rehearsals starting Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. Now in its 51st year, the chorale has met virtually since the start of the pandemic.

Avis Cherichetti grew up in a family that made things. Her mother quilted and her father was a woodworker so she grew up knowing it was acceptable to be an artist.

How wonderful these days to see people’s smiling faces, to not have to rush indoors to the isolation of the house, to see neighbors out walking and stopping to chat, and to be out and about more in the world.
