After an early 2-1 loss to Avon, Granby answered with a 2-1 win later in the season. On Nov. 13, the two teams met again, this time in the finals.
Migliaccio shared opening remarks saying that there have been tremendous resources devoted to the safe reopening of the schools. Thank you to custodians, secretaries, teaching assistants, nurses, and Central Services’ staff who have performed the impossible.
The Class of 2022 student government saw a need for face masks in response to COVID-19, and asked the community for material to make face coverings. People from all over Granby donated a generous amount of yarn, fabric, buttons, elastic and nose pieces.

Board Chairman Melissa Migliaccio, shared opening remarks and said this is the board’s fourth special meeting this summer in order to get the schools reopened. She thanked the administration, Jordan Grossman, Jennifer Parsons, and their team.
Granby Public Schools will start the school year on Sept. 1, 2020, using a hybrid model as a transition to a full reopening. This will allow the implementation of proactive health and safety protocols.
Migliaccio stated the sole purpose of this meeting is to receive an update from the Reopening Task Force on the Governor’s plans. The board will meet again July 13 on the same topic.
Granby Public Schools is proud to announce that Kim Narciso has been selected as the 2020-2021 Teacher of the Year. Narciso was recognized for this distinguished honor in a surprise award presentation at her home on Tuesday, June 9.
