The Class of 2022 student government saw a need for face masks in response to COVID-19, and asked the community for material to make face coverings. People from all over Granby donated a generous amount of yarn, fabric, buttons, elastic and nose pieces.
Over the last four months, the class spent weekends making masks and mask extenders that are being sold at the high school as a fundraiser. The masks are made out of two layers of cotton, lined with a nose piece and interfacing to better seal around the nose. The mask extenders are sold for $1 each, the child-size masks, $3 and the adult-size masks, $4 each. Three adult masks can be purchased for $10 and two child masks can be purchased for $5. The masks consist of fabrics varying in color and patterns with no emblem.
