2017 Memorial Day activities

The Granby Memorial Day parade will be held Monday, May 29. The honorary parade marshall will be Gilbert F. Justo who served with the U.S. Army 101 Infantry Division during the Korean Conflict. The parade will line up at 9:30 a.m. in the parking lot on Bank Street and step off at 10 a.m. sharp. Stops will be made to lay wreaths at the Civil War, War on Terror, Legion and World War I monuments before continuing to the cemetery. Dr. Kirby C. Stafford III, Chief Scientist and State Entomologist at the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station, will give a “tick talk” on Thursday, June 8 at 7 p.m. in the North Barn at Holcomb Farm. This event is open to the public and admission is free. Virginia rail highlights GLT bird walks

Led by John Weeks and Christine Chinni, the walks have become a springtime tradition in town.This year the sky was overcast for the May 13 walk, but the rain held off.
