Swedish Pancake Breakfast, Bake Sale

Pilgrim Covenant Church, 605 Salmon Brook St., will hold a Swedish pancake breakfast and Scandanavian bake sale on Saturday, March 7, 8–10 a.m. Come for pancakes, lingonberries, bacon, sausage and fellowship. Cost is a free-will donation; proceeds benefit an upcoming mission trip.

MS Support Group

The annual Valley Pre-School Sale tag sale is Saturday, March 28, 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m. at First Church, North Granby Road. Early Bird access to sales from 8 to 8:30 a.m. is $10.

SBHS Events

The Salmon Brook Historical Society has a big year ahead marking its 75th anniversary. Members encourage everyone to come celebrate with us at various events this year and, as always, tours are offered every Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. starting Memorial Day.

Pollworkers urgently needed

Lots of pollworkers will be needed for the April 27 annual Granby budget referendum and April 28 presidential preference primary, as well as the Aug. 11 federal primary and for the presidential election Nov.

Taking care of your pet’s teeth

February is National Pet Health Dental Month, which helps raise awareness that the number one health issue in our pets is periodontal disease. According to the American Veterinary Dental Society, 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats will develop dental disease by the age of three.

The skinny on bobcats in Connecticut

Ginny Apple, a Master Wildlife Conservationist and volunteer for the department of environmental protection, presented a very interesting program on bobcats in Connecticut at the Jan. 8 Women’s Breakfast held at the Senior Center.
