Stop & Shop donates to Waste Not Want Not

Restore, Stop & Shop’s reduced emissions fuel program, has donated $10,000 grants to five hunger relief organizations. Granby’s Waste Not Want Not Food Pantry is one of the five organizations receiving the donation.

The focus of the Social Service Department is to coordinate existing federal, state, regional and local services, to increase community awareness of these services and to develop new programs to meet the needs of Granby residents. Chorale to offer a free streamed event

On Sunday, Nov. 15, the Farmington Valley Chorale continues its 50th Anniversary year of celebration with a free event, streamed live, featuring Dr. Ellen Gilson Voth, artistic director, in conversation with Professor Kathy Saltzman Romey, director of the Minnesota Chorale.

UNICO tournament was successful fundraiser

Thanks to its generous sponsors, volunteers and enthusiastic participants, the Granby UNICO Club, a service organization of Italian-Americans, raised more than $12,000 for this year’s scholarship fund and “Secret Santa” project to assist needy families in the Granby community.

Face masks for sale at GMHS

The Class of 2022 student government saw a need for face masks in response to COVID-19, and asked the community for material to make face coverings. People from all over Granby donated a generous amount of yarn, fabric, buttons, elastic and nose pieces.

Keep art alive in Granby

Alexander Anisimov will display his artworks in a one-man show at 2 Park Place Gallery, through Dec. 31.
