In the last issue of the Drummer, it was reported that Standard and Poor—one of the key municipal credit rating agencies—had reaffirmed our rating at AA+. That allowed the town to recently borrow at a favorable rate of interest on its bonds (1.55 percent net).
Transfer Station hours: In addition to Saturdays, the transfer station will be open Wednesday mornings (8 a.m. to noon) through Nov. 17.
• Kindergarten enrollment is continually being monitored. There are currently 122 students registered with seven Open Choice slots. If all seven Open Choice students register, the number will be 129 (125 projected).
The Granby Assessor’s Office is preparing for the state mandated revaluation and has contracted with the appraisal firm Vision Appraisal Technology to assist the Assessors revaluation for Oct. 1, 2022. The company will work with the assessor’s office to make the 12-month process successful.

The 38th annual Friends of Granby Public Library (FOGPL) book sale will be held Friday through Sunday, Sept. 24–26 at Holcomb Farm, 113 Simsbury Road in West Granby.

The Granby Public Library, with support from the Granby Public Library Board, is happy to announce that the library is no longer charging overdue fees for most library materials.
Trash holiday: Monday, Sept. 6, Labor Day, is a holiday for Paine’s Inc. All trash/recycling pickups will be delayed by one day the week after the holiday.
