The focus of the Social Services Department is to coordinate existing federal, state, regional and local services, to increase community awareness of these services and to develop new programs to meet the needs of Granby residents.
The Granby Senior Center manages a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) loaner closet at Holcomb Farm. Citizens of Granby and surrounding towns can borrow, at no cost and for an indefinite period, equipment as needed for themselves and their families.
The Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission held its second public hearing on the Vessel RE Holdings’ application for a permit in connection with a proposed 48-unit apartment building at 37 Hartford Avenue on Sept. 13.

The Town of Granby closed the books on the fiscal year—FY23—that ended on June 30 in a strong financial position, as anticipated.
During Covid, the federal government supplied help to the country’s towns and cities by distributing funds under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). These funds enable municipalities to maintain or improve their infrastructure and technology, among other categories.
