Moosehorn, Griffin, Donohue, Simsbury, Hungary and Enders — Granby roads with bridge issues. The wheels of government turn slowly when it comes to diagnosing and financing repairs of these structures, but inspections have been made, problems identified and financing is in the works.

Legislative update
At the Dec. 17 meeting, Representative Simanski and Senator Witkos gave an update on the state legislature, noting that a big push is being made for no more unfunded mandates.
The directors of the committee proposing the new use of the Kearns school building as a community center gave a presentation to the Board of Selectmen at its Dec. 17 meeting, which was followed by a public hearing at the Board’s Jan.
State Representative Bill Simanski (R-62) took the oath of office for his fifth term representing the 62nd General Assembly District that includes Barkhamsted, Granby, Hartland and New Hartford on Jan. 9.
