The Granby Education Foundation invites you to honor exemplary students, innovative educators, and appreciated community members who have made a difference in education in the town of Granby by participating in the GEF’s tribute program. While the tribute program runs year-round, it makes a particularly appropriate end-of-school year gift to recognize a student’s achievements, thank community volunteers and acknowledge inspiring educators both within the school system and throughout the area.
Granby’s seventh and eighth grade girls’ travel basketball team won the NCC Travel Basketball League championship.
The Granby Board of Education (BOE) recently charged the Superintendent of Schools to conduct an administrative study to explore the impact of different school start times on students’ wellness and academic performance and to assess the feasibility of the implementation of new start times for all Granby schools. In Connecticut, school districts such as Greenwich, Wilton, Guilford, West Hartford, and Simsbury have implemented, or are currently exploring, new start times.
Since 1991, Valley Pre-School has been using the power of imagination to transport its 4s classes on a magical beach vacation for one day each March. The annual “VPS Florida Trip”, now in its 27th year, is one of the school’s most beloved traditions and the source of many happy memories for VPS alums.

In 2012, just under 50,000 cases of malicious cyber attacks were reported to the United States Computer Emergency Team, a department within Home land Security dedicated to computer based threats. In 2015, damage costs from cyber crime soared to three trillion dollars internationally.
This year’s DECA State Competition was a whirlwind of a showing from the GMHS DECA team. Our school brought 31 members of our chapter to States, which is the highest attendance in our chapter’s history, and had 10 people get onto the stage during the final ceremony.
As we pass the week of midterms at GMHS, you may have been hoping for a better grade on some of your exams. This article may help give your grades for future tests and final exams a little boost, as it will suggest tips you have never used before, or may help you bring your current strategies to the next level. Whether you are a freshman or an experienced upperclassman, it is always helpful to learn new last-minute study tricks or try out some entirely different strategies.
