The Granby Grunts Robotics team fascinated the Granby Men’s Breakfast audience at the Nov. 14 meeting.
The Granby Horse Council (GHC) is announcing its 2026 scholarship award of $700 to a senior enrolled in their high school or home school program. Membership in the GHC is not required.
The Granby Capital Priority Planning Advisory Council (CPPAC) has re-convened with renewed purpose and partnership. Meeting twice a month, the council brings together representatives from the board of education (BOE), board of selectmen, and board of finance to review both municipal and school capital needs. Together, the town boards are engaging in forward-thinking discussions to assess capital priorities, balance resources, and plan responsibly for Granby’s future.
Instruction in Granby Public Schools is guided by our Vision of a Graduate: we aim for every student to become a resourceful learner and an effective communicator who contributes positively at the local, national and global levels. Our curriculum is based on state standards that outline the knowledge and skills students should acquire during their K–12 education in order to graduate ready for college and career.
Track in Granby has had a successful 2025. The boys team had a record of 11-2. The girls team record was 10-3.
It is with great excitement that Kelly Lane School welcomes its new principal, Kim Loveland, who joined the school this fall. Stepping into her 11th year as an elementary principal, she brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to fostering a supportive and thriving school community.
At the Sept. 17 meeting, the Granby Board of Education received test score results from the prior year’s Smarter Balance (SBAC) tests. These results, coupled with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) assessment and the PSAT and SAT scores provide guidance to the board—and more importantly the administration and the teachers—of what additional work or changes need to be implemented to help our students achieve their best.
Granby Public Schools is proud to announce that the 2025–26 Teacher of the Year is Sarah Warner, music educator and band instructor at Wells Road Intermediate School.
As Granby School District families return to the routine of another school year, the board of education will begin executing some new strategies and opportunities for 2025–26.
