Empty Bowls raises funds for food pantry

The Expressions Pottery Workshop and the Friend to Friend Food Pantry have partnered for the 25th annual Empty Bowls event on Saturday, Oct. 4. Held at the East Granby Community/Senior Center, 7 Memorial Drive, attendees are welcomed between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to select a hand-potted bowl, then enjoy the festivities.

Purchase Stop & Shop shopping bags in September

The Stop & Shop grocery store in Granby has selected the Citizens for a Better Granby (publishers of the Drummer) to receive a portion of the sales of its Community Bags during September. The $2.50 reusable bags both benefit the environment by reducing the use of paper and plastic bags and yield a $1 donation to CBG. That sounds like a WIN-WIN to us!

Granby America 250 Committee

This event is a year away, but it’s not too soon to start planning for July 4, 2026. The Granby America 250 committee is planning a celebration on the 4th of July that will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Farmington Valley residents have a great, free resource for durable medical equipment (DME) in the Granby DME Closet. Residents of the Farmington Valley can borrow wheelchairs, walkers, commodes and more, free of charge.
