July Book Sale raised $13,500

The Friends of Granby Public Library (FOGPL) wrapped up another successful book sale at the end of July—the sale generated over $13,500! All proceeds support the Granby Public Library with books, magazines, DVDs, museum passes and special programs for all patrons.

NCCHP Museum

The NCCHP—Noble and Cooley Center for Historic Preservation—Museum at the Drum Factory, 42 Water Street, Granville is open for tours on the second and fourth Sundays of the month from noon to 3 p.m.

Dialogues on Race offered this fall

The Faith Subcommittee of Granby Racial Reconciliation will offer Dialogues on Race on seven consecutive Tuesdays from Sept. 27 to Nov. 8, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. via Zoom.

Musical Club announces live program

The Musical Club of Hartford announces its first live music program of the 2022-23 season on Thursday, Sept. 15, 10 a.m., at Westminster Presbyterian Church in West Hartford.

Windsor Freedom Trail Run

The Windsor Freedom Trail Committee’s annual run will be held on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 5:30 to 8:30 a.m. The start point is Archer Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church, 320 Hayden Station Road, Windsor.

American Legion and Grange retire U.S. flags

Granby American Legion Post #182 joined with Riverton Grange #169 for its Third Annual American Flag Retirement Ceremony recently with almost 30 participants aged 9 to 92 participating. This solemn ceremony, authorized by U.S. code title 36, section 176, states, “The Flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.”
