Valley Brook Community Church is pleased to announce the pastoral ordination of Brian A. Rooney, the church’s current Director of Discipleship. Brian, his wife, Jenna, and their dog, Koda, live in Granby.

At the March 16 Granby Board of Selectmen meeting, First Selectman Mark Fiorentino congratulated Barbara Schmitt on her appointment to the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission.
At Granby Memorial Middle School Fish Kids club, students were studying brown trout and their unique adaptations, including an ability to change coloration and patterns to better blend into the environment. During the lesson, one student, Owen Blanchard, posed a question that evolved into a project: What if the fish tanks looked more like the fish’s natural habitat?

Ezra (Zeb) Ripple Harris, a devoted husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 14, 2025, at Capitol Hill assisted living in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was 87 years old.
Make your plans to attend Granby’s annual Memorial Day Parade and program on Monday, May 25. Parade Marshal and American Legion Post 182 Commander Cliff Burrell announced that this year’s honorary parade marshal and guest speaker is Dr. Don Rethke.
The Granby Public Library will be closed May 15 to the public as staff participate in training for new library systems and closed May 25 for Memorial Day.
